Welcome! This is a website that everyone can build together. It's easy!

Slog Fest HomeThis is a featured page

SLOGSLOG... the Kennesaw Mountain Writing Project Summer Institute 2008 mascot of choice... part slug... part hog... (and a little Darth Vader)... but ALL SLOG!!

Follow the slog to its home on the KMWP site...

Mark your calendars! Next meeting of the 2008 KMWPsi is Monday, November 3. Tentative location--Jolley Lodge.

IMPORTANT:
I think someone should be in charge of texting me that day just to say hi and that you miss me (because you will) :) Plus, I'm thinking I'm going to need a sticker that day.

Getting Started...
Every SI 2008 joiner has his/her own page so there's a space you can make all your own if you want.

To add anything to a page-
Click Easy Edit
You'll recognize normal Word-like buttons. There's also a Widgets button that will let you add a you tube video or personalized Google calendar or other widgets you might want.

To rename a page - go to the page you want, click More Tools
A drop-down menu will appear with the option to rename the page, delete it, move it, and so on.

To create a new page - under the menu on the left with our names, click on Add Page.
If you want it to be a page under your name, click on the page titled your name first, then add page. If you want it to be on the main menu, click on Home first, then add page. If you get mixed up or decide later the page isn't quite where you want it, go that page, click More Tools, Move It, and then select where you want your page to be.

Things to know about a wiki -

Anyone can add to any page on here, including one with someone else's name.

While lots of people can add and change stuff on the wiki at once, only one person can edit a page at a time, so if someone else is working on the page you want to work on, you should get some sort of pop-up notice telling you someone else has control and asking if you would like to steal control. I think it will also let you know how long someone's been editing that page. So just use your best judgment; if someone's been on the page for 10 or 15 minutes, maybe let them play a little longer, go play on another page of the wiki, and come pack later to add your stuff to that page. If it's been, say, an hour, then maybe a fellow cluncher has dragged your friend away to the "teachers' lounge," and it might be all right to steal control b/c who knows if and when your friend will come back to said page.

If you want more info about wikis-- what it is or how to start one for your class, you can check out the Wikis page.

Things to know about this wiki -

Feel free to add a page
(the inquiry groups might want to add a page with their info on it... so we have maybe a Social Justice Page, Engaging Students page or whatever; we can talk about how we want to use this, but feel free to play and experiment)

If there are other cool things you figure out how to do, maybe you could start a thread on this page and tell us what you did and how you did it. If there's stuff you want to do but aren't sure how to do, post that here too, and maybe someone else knows how and can tell you or we can all experiment until we figure it out and/or find other cool things to add.
